Megumi Shinozaki, Founder/Creative Director

Centering her practice around embracing the full potential of flowers, Megumi Shinozaki makes artworks, designs, installations, and creations that minimize flower waste. In 2009, Shinozaki established the creative studio edenworks, founded upon the philosophy that “every flower has a future which we shouldn’t throw away.” Both an artist and florist, Shinozaki creates ‘eternal’ blossoms using paper and various materials, as well as works made from fresh flowers that highlight the ephemeral and precious nature of the cycle of life. These two contrasting approaches together represent the central theme of Shinozaki’s practice, in which flowers and plants are a symbolic way of exploring the profound area between life and death, temporary and eternal. With this idea as the guiding motivation of her practice, Shinozaki continues to actively exhibit in Japan and abroad.
